Sketches?
You may be wondering why I’ve chosen to post so many sketches on my website. Some of the sketches are finished work products, while others are more rough in nature (which isn’t to say they aren’t finished-I’ve simply done with them what I wanted to). I’ve chosen to post the sketches for several reasons. First and foremost, I like them as they do a good job of summing up who I am, what I like to draw, and how I go about it. I’ve also chosen to post these as I’m taken by the variety of artwork hanging, for instance, in the local coffee shop (in whatever city I happen to be in). Sometimes the art on the walls (that is for sale) is, in my opinion, quite good. Other art, at times, strikes me as less worthy of public display. Obviously just my opinion and I don’t really view myself as being in a position to judge anything, but more to the point, as demand apparently exists out there for art of all different types, I’m providing some options and diversity. Lastly, and related to my last point, I find combinations of different types of sketches to be interesting. You’ll see that I have several artworks titled “Mix and match….” where I’ve taken several individual sketches and combined them. If you find a combination you’d like to “invent“, just let me know and I’ll do my best to accommodate you!
